1st Photographic Competition

Photographic competition for under 18’s
In the last issue of Newsleaf a Photographic Competition to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the F.O.S.W. in 2014 was announced. At the last AGM members expressed concern about the steadily declining membership and it was felt that the Committee should raise the profile of the F.O.S.W. and encourage the younger generation to take an interest and learn about the woods. To this end the committee decided to write to 5 local senior schools, inviting them to enter a photographic competition. The committee would seek local press coverage. The photographs should be relevant to the woods, whether it be vegetation, trees, birds, wildlife or the people and their dogs that walk in them.
The competition will be split into 2 age groups, 11-14 and 15-18, with prizes for the winners and runners up in each section.
